  • About

For over ten years, Lead the Way has been supporting people with learning disabilities in Calderdale live the lives they want to live.

We provide 1:1 advice and information, run groups, events, and activities, and support people to access the health and social care services they want and need.

The work we do is vital to help ensure that people with learning disabilities are seen and treated as equal members of our society and can feel safe and supported within their communities.

With the cost of living crisis, it is getting harder and harder to do everything we need to do to support people with learning disabilities. This is why we are asking for your help.  Please donate today to help improve the life of someone with a learning disability.

Here's how your money can help:

  • £5 will buy a person with a learning disability a coffee and slice of cake at one of our coffee mornings, where they can spend time with friends (reducing social isolation) and receive 1:1 advice and information from our dedicated staff team.
  • £10 will allow us to deliver an arts, crafts or wellbeing session for up to five people with a learning disability, helping improve their mental health and wellbeing or learn new skills.
  • £15 will allow us to provide a person with a learning disability in crisis with 1 hour of specialist support, reducing the risk of their longer-term health and wellbeing being affected.

Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will be a big help.  Thank you in advance!
